The Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area boasts massive basalt cliffs, countless waterfalls, rolling vineyards – and 80 miles of spectacular views of dazzling Mount Hood and Mount Adams. You’ll bike, hike and explore the Gorge plus the hills surrounding both of these peaks, cycling several outstanding routes we don’t offer on our other Columbia Gorge tours due to their rigorous nature. As with all our Classic Plus tours, the miles are there for the riding, and the pace is entirely up to you.

OregonFamily Camping Tour

Portland’s gorgeous riverside bike paths lead us out to the Willamette Valley, heart of Oregon Territory. You’ll visit the place where the first mission for Native Americans once stood and spend a day canoeing a placid river where no motorboats are allowed. Everyone will relish cycling flat valley roads through vineyards and farmland, crossing rivers on tiny 5-car ferries, and visits to a fudge-making monastery. We even fit in visits to a couple of celebrated area attractions. To read more,

It’s home to one of the world’s greatest concentrations of waterfalls, including Multnomah Falls, the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States. It nurtures more than a thousand species of wildflowers, some to be found nowhere else on the globe. The New York Times calls the Columbia Gorge scenery “like Europe, only better.”

Oregon CoastClassic Tour

Miles of craggy coastline, glittering water and sandy beaches are the hallmark of the Oregon coastline on this bicycle tour. Antique lighthouses still stand guard over jutting headlands, and farther inland, the occasional roadside stand offers brilliant bouquets of dahlias and gladiolas for sale on the honor system. We’ll cycle from Astoria, the oldest American settlement in the West, south to Newport, where the fishing boats still share the bay with southbound pods of whales.

Oregon Wine CountryClassic Tour

The Oregon Wine country centered in Yamhill County just 40 miles southwest of Portland continues to grow and win international acclaim ⎯ particulary for its Pinot Noir. The area has some of the best restaurants in the state and great cycling on rural roads. We limit this trip to just five couples who will enjoy all three nights at a special bed and breakfast. Each night we’ll van to one of the excellent fine dining experiences in the wine country.

Oregon Crater LakeClassic Tour

A sapphire nesting on the mountaintop, with tiny Wizard Island accenting its waters, Crater Lake is a thing of mystery, an amazing backdrop to this bicycle tour. Its striking azure tranquility is coupled with a violent past: Native American legend tells of a furious battle between gods and chiefs warring over a lovely princess – a holocaust of hurtling boulders and landslides of fire. The fray ended in the mountain’s collapse, leaving behind an empty bowl. With no access to outside water, what became the deepest lake in the country is a crater filled entirely with snowmelt.

Though we have only taken BA trips (3) we would not consider changing to another company unless we could not find a BA trip we’d like for us. We joke that BA must screen the clients to only get nice, friendly and fun people to go on the tours….And we’ve never had anything but super guides who go over the top to accommodate us. ”

Oregon is a beautiful state and this tour is a great way to see wonderful parts of it. The tour allows for some hard biking and an easy, ‘layover’ day to try other things, like hiking or getting a massage. The guides give you great information about the area, Oregon itself, and other things to do in Oregon if you are staying a few days after the Bicycle Adventures tour is over. Everyone got along very well, and we had great laughs. ”
